  • It is not necessary to take steps in the right direction, but take any steps.

Reflection:

It is important to be aware of our options whenever faced with dilemmas. We could be trapped in situations where we think waiting on it is the best choice because we do not know where to go. That might be the case, but not all the time. There are other situations where you need more information, and taking steps, whether or not in the right direction, would give a better glance of the situation.

So, if more information is needed and shaking the tree would let you have at least part of it, go for it. It takes courage to move into the unknown, but it is fun, too, and you'll learn a lot from it.

The benefit of practicing this principle is that we become more efficient with time management. We would get things done faster gaining some wisdom in the process. The compound effect of it over time could turn impressive.

(This principle is part of the 50 principles that Ryan Blair shares in his Altercall course).
